Competition Overview
This is a competition of total look and beauty. The competition will allow the student stylist to be as creative as their abilities will allow. Make-up and clothes must compliment the hairstyle.

Competition Rubric & Judging Categories
The competition is open to any student cosmetologist or student barber stylist, or apprentice. Make-up and clothes must compliment the hairstyle. Remember, this is a hair and beauty show. Contestants can have two asistants. Both may do the make-up. No other assistance allowed. No one else is allowed in the preparation room but contestant, assistants, and model.
Judging will be done on a visual basis only. This is a total look competition. Judging will include hair, headdress, clothing,make-up, nail, and accessories. Entries will be judged on the total appearance of their model. The finished style must be part of the model total look. The hairstyle and attire must compliment each other. The attire must tie-in with the hairstyle. Clothing, make-up and hair must give a total look. The artist must sign and submit the official entry application and the required fee. In doing so, the Artist agrees to abide by the decision of the judges. Scoring will be as follows:
Theme: the overall subject, genre, or message behind the style (30 points)
Overall Look: the makeup, wardrobe, and accessories (30 points)
Hair: the execution of the style, the balance and symmetry of the style, how the hair style coincides with the theme and overall look, and the creativity of the style (40 points)
Competition Rules
You will have 30 minutes to style your model's hair. All models will have to present their look on the main stage.
All models will be judged on creativity, total look, execution, and presentation.
All models and contestants must sign release forms.
Models need to be 18 years or older. If not, their legal guardian will need to be present.
Any fighting physically or verbally with any model or contestantwill result in an automatic disqualification.
All participants must check in by 4pm on September 14, 2025.
All models’ hair must be free from chemical or heat alterations.
Roller sets, rods, and diffusers are acceptable. Chemical texturing, smoothing, flat iron, or thermal curling will not be allowed.
Each contestant will have 30 minutes to style their model's hair.
No pre-styling is allowed. Curls must be set.
Permanent, Demi, or semi hair color is allowed.
ALL COMPETITORS ARE RESPONSIPLE FOR THEIR OWN PERSONAL BELONGINGS!!!
Absolutely no persons are allowed in the competition prep room but contestant, assistant, and model. NO EXCEPTIONS!! Otherwise, points will be deducted.
