"Industry Reflections: Talent vs Professionalism Part I"

Happy New Year, KirkPro Family! We're only 17 days into the New Year and most of us are already back to work, not missing a beat. 2017 seemed to fly by and I didn't get a chance to do a lot of reflecting until the last month of the year...I just want to thank you all again --instructors, staff, and participants who attended Jam Session 2017 in Birmingham. Pics from the event are up on the website at www.kevinkirkpro.com. I hope that you all enjoyed it as much as we did! And by the way--the Cut Party is coming soon to a city near you!

This post is the first of a series that I'll be sharing over the next few months. One thing I love about this industry is that what you put into it is what you get out of it. I have almost 27 years of experience in this field, and I have had the pleasure of traveling the world teaching and learning from other stylists. One thing that has always amazed me is how similar we are from place to place. Most beauty industry professionals can be broken down into three categories: The Most Talented, The Most Professional, and the rarest breed, The Hybrid, who are both talented and professional. Take The Hybrid out of the equation and let's discuss the talented and the professional, as to which one is the most successful.

Before I tell you my opinion, I'd love to hear your thoughts. So which one is most successful, The Most Talented Stylists or The Most Professional Stylists? And remember, your answer can't be both. You have to pick one or the other. Once I hear from you, I'll share my thoughts.

Blessings for the New Year,

Kevin Kirk
